Annie is a portrait & wedding photographer, who has won numerous awards from Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley, including Sr. Portrait Photographer of the Year, and Fine Art Photographer of the Year.  She also holds a number of awards from Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.  She holds a degree in Fine Art Photography from Sacramento City College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree from CSU Sacramento.  Annie began shooting weddings and portraits in the late 1970's.  After taking a few years off to teach in the Elk Grove Unified School District, she resumed her photography career in 1999.  Annie has a splendid sense of humor and thoroughly enjoys her work.  Annie is outstanding at retouching and also specializes in Fine Art digital hand-painted portraits from her photographs.

She attributes her artistic and creative abilities as gifts from God.  Annie has been a Christian since 1975.

She lives with her husband and son in Roseville, California.  Annie and her sister, Joanie Hess, are published authors of women's fiction.  They collaborate in writing books in the Romantic Comedy genre.  Their first book in the River Oak Series, Molly Takes the Cake, was released in the summer of 2015. The second book in the River Oaks Series, Leaving Lyra, is due for release in the near future.

In addition to photography and writing, Annie loves to knit, garden, read, sew, laugh, and shop...especially for shoes.
